Under normal circumstances Circle Dock permits you to make changes to the Dock structure (for
example, to add, change, move and delete Dock Items) and also to its appearance and
behaviour. To do all of this, Circle Dock requires read/write access to certain files that store its
configuration data.
However, there may be circumstances where it is necessary to prevent any modification to the
Dock such as a school or corporate network where you want total control over the application
choices (Dock Items) and a common look and feel. For this you should enable Kiosk Mode.
Thirdly, you may want to install Circle Dock on a USB thumb-drive and need relative path
information for files to be stored and used, rather than absolute paths that Circle Dock defaults to
using. For this you should enable Portable Mode.
The following pages describe these latter two options in greater detail.
